I’m back and I’m very tired since the weekend, but I’m very happy of it! The Scanbalt International Cruise is a cruise to Tallinn from Stockholm organised for students! Here is the resume of the weekend…
1st way
A 1pm, the 3 buses left Linköping in direction of Stockholm, full of Erasmus student, and 3h later, we were on the “ferry” in destination to Tallinn, Estonia’s capital.

————————————————————————————————————–
We made after a visit of the boat and we sought something cheap to eat, so we found a restaurant where it was possible to eat some “cheap” burger for only 15€, one of the cheapest one on board…
We went to the taxes-free shop, indeed, we were on international waters, so no taxes on all the products, especially for the alcohol. Some people had to do the queue for 1h30 before go in! (we waited only 10min).
We went back to the cabin, with full bags, and we stay into it for a while speak, playing et I tried to communicate in german (that is easier every day, but still hard).
Next, we went to see the end of a concert of a soft-rock band and then the circus spectacle. Finally we made party a big part of the night. We went sometimes outside to feel the fresh air of the Baltic see!
Tallinn
We arrived to Tallinn the tomorrow morning at 10am (local time, so 9am with the Swedish/French time).
For those who doesn’t know, Tallinn is the Estonian capital, and we use the Estonian kronor (15 eek ~ 1€).
We only visited the old town, which has a very medieval look. The global atmosphere was a little bit strange, maybe because of it was Monday. There was not so much people, and no big shopping street as other capitals i visited.
So, it didn’t really look like a capital, but it was very nice to see it! The architecture, colors, roads with pavements, amber shops, gardens etc..
.
When we arrived, we didn’t eat anything on the morning, so we decided to go on a café to take an English breakfast (no Estonian breakfast proposed, but i’m curious to know what it could looks like!).
Next we went to the main interesting points we looked at the map. Before going back to the boat, we went in a restaurant to eat something cheaper than in the boat.
The way back
The evening/night of the way back was not so different as the first way, maybe less party (according to me) because everyone was tired, or to drunk.
When we arrived on the morning, there was a lot of sun (and cold) in Stockholm, instead of the 1st way and Tallinn.
We took the bus at 10:30am to finally arrive at Linköping at 1:00pm.
It was a very very nice weekend (I mean, Sunday-Monday-Tuesday), tired, but it worth it!
